André Mota

André Mota is a Portuguese drummer and percussionist working in experimental and freely improvised music. His approach treats the drum kit as a flexible group of resonating surfaces and rhythmic possibilities, responding to the gestures of other musicians.

Creative Sources documents his participation in improvised ensembles from Portugal's active contemporary-music community. The recordings bring together changing dynamics, instrumental textures and forms created during performance.
