Frans Van Isacker lives in Brussels. After studying jazz saxophone at the city’s Royal Conservatory he began playing in several jazz and improvised music groups, and is active in both scenes to this day.
He attended workshops held by Jean-Luc Guionnet, Hayden Chisholm (who introduced him to quarter tone playing on the saxophone) and Barre Philips, with whom he began exploring the solo improvisatory idiom he has continued to explore ever since.
He also continues his research within the context of a long term collaboration with Marjolaine Charbin.
