Martin Blume

Martin Blume is a German drummer and percussionist active in free improvisation since 1983. His playing centres on responsive sound, texture and collective form rather than fixed rhythmic roles.

Across four decades he has worked with a broad range of improvisers including Peter Brötzmann, Peter Kowald, Phil Minton, John Butcher, Georg Graewe, Joëlle Léandre and Fred Van Hove. His current Bandcamp archive continues to document numerous international collaborations.
