1964 born in Hamburg, Germany.
1983–91 studies visual arts, in Hamburg and Düsseldorf, with Gotthard
Graubner and A.R. Penck.
In the 90s works as an art critic in Budapest, Hungary. Playing various
musical instruments (guitar, piano, trumpet, violin) as improvisor, solo
and in a freejazz orchestra. Still painting and developing theories on
“nonrepresentational art”.
Since 2003 autodidactical studies in modern composition. Playing
alternatively notated Music (Cardew, Cage, Wolff) with the ensemble “serve
music!”. Writing piano pieces in traditional notation (yet without any
precompositional conception).
2005-08 organizes fortnightly concerts of current music (Keith Rowe, John
Tilbury, János Négyesy, Christian Wolff, Peter Ablinger, Sven Åke
Johansson, Makiko Nishikaze, Eugene Chadbourne…) in a church in Hamburg
Altona.
Since 2007 writing pieces in a self developed diagram-notaion, under the
label Ordinary Music.
Ordinary Music has been performed by the ensembles: Nelly Boyd, Tonart
(Hamburg), Akros Percussion Collective (Ohio), Eis (Vienna) Lemur (Oslo)
Variable Geometry Orchestra (Lisbon) and several ad-hoc-formations
(including musical laymen as well as skilled musicians).
